"I was part of the group who stayed in the Jubilee building at the weekend. I just wanted to thank you all - we had a wonderful time, thanks in part to both you and your crew and the facilities the site had to offer. Having stayed at many Scout campsites (and crewed at several too) I just wanted to let you know how impressed I was with the standard of the activities and site facilities. It was so refreshing to find a Scout camp with properly built high quality activities, rather than things cobbled together as is sadly so often the way. Having booked the low ropes team challenges I had no idea what to expect and it turned out to be a total success - the Cubs loved it, as I am sure I would have done if I'd have had a chance to have a go! I shall have to come back to try the activities on the high ropes, they look brilliant. The building was ideal and (despite you putting the fear of God in to me over the fire alarm) everything seemed to work out OK! I cannot begin to tell you how happy I was with the power AND heat in the shower.... Another thank you for keeping the prices low, it allowed us to let the Explorers fit in some more activities without being cost prohibitive, and when there was a space the Cubs loved going on the adventure playground. Your crew were always helpful and the Cubs were delighted with just how much they could buy with their pocket money from the providore. I felt the need to drop you a line just because of the general quality of the site and having never experienced that before I wanted to make you aware of how much people appreciate it. I'm particularly grateful for the manner in which you so kindly allowed us to move into the Dad Atkins Centre after our problems with the tents and the weather on Sunday night. "thank you for another great stay at Butchers Coppice - we came back this year because we all felt (Leaders and Scouts) that yours is a really great campsite... the cost of camping is excellent considering the facilities you have, the activity list is great and it is really good that some are free!! The air rifle range is perfect, crate staking is great and all the Scouts loved this - all the instructors and staff are really friendly and helpful (not always the case at many sites) and this really helps when you are away at camp - the toilet block is second to none in my experience – especially if you compare to Gilwell, our national Scout Camp - it is good that the toilet block and showers are cleaned properly daily... I look forward to seeing you again soon in the not too distant future and having a go on your new ropes course when it is done - again many thanks for all your help in making this year's summer camp a success..." "we had a very enjoyable week, only one trip to hospital and that was my son! The toilet and shower block were exceptional and cleaned so regularly, I think I was on first name terms with staff by the end of the week - it's a shame that some girls have habits beyond belief, I cannot imagine what their homes are like! The hot water on tap outside the block was very useful and we used washing up bowls from there – brilliant idea... the activities were not only very good value for money, they were run by friendly helpful staff..." "we had a great camp at your site - the weather was extemely good compared to the last few years when we have had very wet camps - we were disappointed with two aspects of the campsite - one being the actual size of the field itself (however, I realise that you cannot do anything about this) - the second was your shop - other campsites we have been to have a walk in shop - there was very limited stock and the counter was very high (Cubs are very small)... on the upside we thoroughly enjoyed our stay - the activities were good and the instructors were very friendly and helpful - I will add to that, all your staff were very friendly and helpful - your shower block is the very best we have ever had on a campsite - the showers were kept clean (as were the tiolets) and plenty of hot water - the size of our individual site was large enough with room to spare, as was the Scout site - it was great to be able to load and unload the van on the actual site... We did, for the first time, use Sainsburys to You for our shopping, which saved a lot of time and in not losing a Leader to do the shopping - apart from the two little niggles at the start of this e-mail, we cannot fault your site at all and I would recommend it to another Group quite willingly..."
