Archery is an Olympic sport, using bows to fire arrows at targets - it's thousands of years old, and through the years has been enjoyed by Kings, Queens and even the Pharoahs of Egypt.

At Butchers Coppice you'll enjoy archery either in our outdoor covered range or in our indoor range, depending on the weather.

Up to 12 participants can take part in archery in a one hour session - up to six of your group will be shooting at once, in rotation.

If you have more than 12 participants you can book a longer session and break your group up in to smaller groups.

Archery participants must wear closed footwear - no flip-flops or open-toed footwear is allowed - please also remove any watches or jewellery from arms and ensure any loose upper clothing is tucked in and long hair is tied back.

Our 33ft artificial climbing wall has different climbing routes including a step and an overhang - you climb the wall using the different coloured handholds - if you're more experienced you could try to climb the wall using just one coloured route.

Traditional climbing is different from auto-belay simulated rock climbing, as it uses ropes and traditional belaying (the control of the safety ropes preventing you from falling).

Our climbing complex also includes a bouldering wall (climbing sideways instead of up) - you can practice your climbing on the bouldering wall while you wait for your go.

This activity is outdoors and subject to the weather conditions. The climbing complex is lit, so sessions can take place after dark.

Up to 12 participants can take part in traditional climbing in a two hour session - up to two of your group will be climbing at once, in rotation.

Climbing sessions start at two hours.

If you have more than 12 participants you can book a longer session and break your group up in to smaller groups.

Traditional climbing participants must wear closed footwear - no flip-flops or open-toed footwear is allowed - please also remove any watches or jewellery from arms and ensure any loose upper clothing is tucked in and long hair is tied back.

All participants must be aged 6 years or above.

Our auto-belay simulated rock climbing wall is the same principle as the mobile climbing walls you might have seen at theme parks or at the fairground - you climb up the wall, attached by a wire, to an auto-belay device, which will lower you gently back down to the ground at the end of your climb or if you fall off before you reach the top.

Auto-belay simulated rock climbing is different from traditional climbing, as it uses an automatic wire belay system instead of traditional ropes - it is more efficient than traditional climbing and safer, as there is less margin for human error.

Our climbing complex also includes a bouldering wall (climbing sideways instead of up) - you can practice your climbing on the bouldering wall while you wait for your go.

This activity is outdoors and subject to the weather conditions. The climbing complex is lit, so sessions can take place after dark.

Up to 12 participants can take part in auto-belay simulated rock climbing in a one hour session - up to two of your group will be climbing at once, in rotation.

If you have more than 12 participants you can book a longer session and break your group up in to smaller groups.

Auto-belay simulated rock climbing participants must wear closed footwear - no flip-flops or open-toed footwear is allowed - please also remove any watches or jewellery from arms and ensure any loose upper clothing is tucked in and long hair is tied back.

All participants must be at least 1.1m tall, weigh between 5 and 17 stone and have a waist measuring between 16 and 49 inches.
