wildlife garden activities

Each of these activities begins with an exercise to set the theme and to get the participants thinking about that theme. These activities include making a simple list, trying a quiz or completing a wordsearch puzzle.

Each programme involves going around the campsite and the wildlife garden to find evidence and information relating to the theme.

Each activity also involves going back to the resource centre to examine and share evidence and information. It also provides the opportunity to use the information books and leaflets available to identify their findings and to add extra information.

Each activity programme set out also includes a list of resources that will be available at the campsite in the resource centre. It also provides a list of resources the participants would need or may like to bring with them.

These activity programmes are to act as ideas and guidelines for groups and individuals wishing to use them. Organisers and participants may wish to expand on them and the themes offered.

All duration times for each activity are general guidance only. Each activity may last longer or shorter than the times specified depending on the content of the activity and the age group of the participants.

Our thanks to Elaine Oliver for pulling together the resources to create these activity packs.
